I once had a professor who told me a story about being an editor, challenges of the newspaper industry and what hope looks like in a news room. He told it with such vibrance and conviction I could never do it justice by repeating it.

To sum up, the story ended with a rubber duck. I, along with my colleagues, was given a “news duck” and told to take it wherever my reporting would take me, and work hard to produce our best work possible.
